Education also needs to change! There are so many children and young people not able to conform to the current system! The system is archaic…and this video shows us why! (Thanks to Darius Namdaran for spotting this!)

  1. What a wonderfully illustrated message. It resonated with me as I have ADHD and know that I missed my vocation because I was shoe-horned into a system that didn’t work the way I did.

  2. Hi Judy…I think many of us feel that way! I have more the right-brained creative and lateral thinking tendencies…so didn’t do amazingly in the school system. Many of the young people we have worked with over the years in the inner-city also find it hard to adapt to the school culture!

  3. Co-incidentally, only yesterday I was just discussing education with my husband when the news broadcasts talked about the huge numbers of graduates in Tunisia who couldn’t get jobs – because there aren’t any – and which is one of the reasons they were rioting! And it’s the same in so many countries. I was pondering and wondering: wouldn’t it be better to teach children how to think and create new inventions and businesses. After all, I once read that Richard Branson has ADHD (he was lucky – he had well to do parents who no doubt gave him opportunity and confidence)

  4. Judy! It seems that we are on the same wave-length! Throughout 2010 God was repeatedly speaking to us about pioneering businesses and training others to do the same!

So I read every business book I could get my hands on (including stuff by and on Richard Branson)
And this year 2011 we are stepping out to form a business that in turn creates new businesses!

This is one of the themes of my life and this blog: ‘Pioneering Change;’ discovering ideas and creating businesses that will transform the 7 spheres of society (education, government, media, arts+culture, religion, social/family, business+economy)

Maybe we can share notes :)

  5. Hi

Have to say I loved this and think it’s so relevant. I think it reflects a lot of the more innovative approaches to teaching which I feel this country drastically needs. I feel that in my experience as a teacher I have seen so many children ‘whacked out’ with education and there are teachers who feel similar. How do we move this forward?
